Triplets First Birthday | Boston Event Photographer

Saturday I had to opportunity to assist my friend Paula for a triplets first birthday shoot. The party was held at the Four Seasons in Boston, with guests enjoying brunch and traditional Korean celebrations for a Tol. Caden, Caleb, and Cara were adorable dressed up in several outfits, including beautiful Korean dress.This is my favorite from the day, I love that little face peaking out over mom’s shoulder!The food looked delectable, even I wanted to try the sushi (and I’m the pickiest eater). I tried the Korean rainbow colored steamed rice cake, mujigae-ddeok. Their grandfather prayed over each of them.Following tradition, the children participated in a Toljabee Event. A bowl was filled with items such as rice, money and rope, representing plentiful eating, wealth, and longevity. Then the triplets picked up an item that attracts him or her and the child’s future is predicted according to the what he or she grabs. I thought this was so interesting, so I researched a little online and found out that Korean parents usually place the items that they want the child to choose near to the edge of the bowl – that would explain why Sang (a dentist) put a dentist’s tool in the front of the bowl! All three children picked the dentist’s tool which was funny for everyone. The table upfront had a gorgeous first birthday cake, and the family cut the cake together.Happy First Birthday to the triplets!
