Elizabeth | Maternity Portrait Session Wellsley

Its about time I shared these images of Elizabeth and her hubby Nick on the blog because I am about to visit them again tomorrow for a newborn session! Rewind to last month, I visited them at home in Wellsley for pregnancy portraits on location. We started off with some of my signature black & white maternity images – I love Nick’s smile in the belly shot!

The exchange here went something like this… me: Nick, why don’t you maybe kiss the baby, just a little softer.. Elizabeth: Nick, just ‘don’t make out with the belly’. Instant laughter, love that.

And Elizabeth was stunning with that beautiful pregnancy glow.

These photos capture the excitement of waiting for their first little one- and I’m so glad I had the chance to photograph a few images in the nursery because those images are some of my favorites. How adorable is that stuffed giraffe?? Elizabeth picked out ‘Goodnight Moon’ and we got some captures in the rocker where she is sure to log many hours snuggling and reading with her new little boy (plus balancing the book on the bump is just too cute!).

Elizabeth & Nick, thanks for being so awesome and I can’t wait to meet Adam tomorrow :)

Bekah and Bobby | Stowe Wedding Photography

Bekah and Bobby live around Boston but with Bekah growing up in VT and both Bekah and Bobby attending UVM, a wedding in Vermont was the perfect spot for the happy couple’s nuptials. I am always happy to take the ride up to Vermont, as I grew up outside of Burlington and love to get back and visit as much as I can. Especially during the Summer in picturesque Stowe!

The day started inside the bridal suite at The Stowehof Inn where Bekah and her eight bridesmaids gathered before the ceremony. Bekah’s gorgeous lace dress looked right at home hanging from the four poster bed inside the suite.

Lace wedding gown and purple shoes at the Stowehof Inn

Bekah’s grandmother came into the suite and gave her a blue vintage handkerchief to carry with her – a beautiful something old and something blue.

Getting the party started off right!

While the ladies helped Bekah select her earrings for the big day and sipped on champagne, the guys were downstairs hanging with my second shooter, Louisa.

Bobby looking cool and collected (with a haircut if you recall their Boston engagement session!) hanging out on the porch spying on the tent and ceremony site below.

His eight groomsmen weren’t looking too shabby either.

I grabbed this shot of a few guys relaxing by the pool enjoying a drink from the bridal suite.

Meanwhile Bekah was looking absolutely stunning.

A proud father waits to walk down the aisle…

The officiant was wonderful and kept the ceremony lively and fun – I love this shot of real raw laughter from the bride and groom – its OK to be yourselves up there!

Officially MARRIED!

While the guests enjoyed a cocktail hour by the pool with this stunning afternoon view…

…I snuck off with Bekah and Bobby to have a quiet moment alone and capture some beautiful portraits of them. Hilarious moment of the afternoon – jumping into my car to drive up the road a bit and forgetting that my muffler busted on the drive up to the wedding – it was a loud ride in my chariot! But it was worth it to photograph images like these.

And my favorite… isn’t it so ‘Sound of Music’?

Then off to celebrate with family and friends!

A heartfelt toast from Best Man Nick

I think this was about the time Bobby was grateful to have the band welcome other couples onto the dance floor  ;)

Bekah & Bobby, thank you so much for trusting me to capture your big day, best wishes for the many wonderful years I know you two will share together!

Ellen | Kalamazoo Photographer - September 14, 2011 - 2:28 pm

Outdoor Senior Photographer Boston

What a wild week of weather we had (say that 10 times fast)! An earthquake, hurricane watch and a tropical storm in the Northeast? While I was bummed to have to reschedule sessions, it was kinda nice staying in and being lazy relaxing this weekend. I got to play board games with my sweetie and watch a marathon of Sex & the City all without feeling too guilty :)

Rewind a few weeks to beautiful weather and an equally beautiful senior, Erin. I actually photographed her on one of the many trips to Vermont I have made this summer, in between photographing a wedding and being in another :) Several years ago I had a family portrait session with Erin and her siblings and I think she was all too eager to replace that portrait on the wall with something new ;) I love seeing my clients grow up – and I can’t believe Erin is now a senior!

As much as I like smiley and happy senior portraits, I love a more serious look too. Isn’t this killer? My favorite from the session, and her mom’s too! I love when parents have an eye for something different.

Thank you Erin for a fun senior session and enjoy your last couple days of Summer before senior year starts!

Erin is adorable! That image of her lying on the grass is really pretty.

Mike & Marisa | Cape Cod Wedding Photographer

Last month I photographed a wedding in Cape Cod for a couple I am happy to call friends. Mike and Marisa are high school sweethearts which as Mike’s Aunt Sandra (who officiated the wedding) pointed out is so rare these days. I met Mike & Marisa years ago thru mutual friends, and was thrilled when they asked me to photograph their wedding at Truro Vineyards. For every wedding I photograph, I love to get to know the bride and groom a bit before the big day (one of the reasons I include engagement photography in my wedding collections) and get everyone to be themselves in front of me and the camera- so knowing the couple- and most of the wedding party- made my job that much easier, love that. I have lots of favorite images from their wedding day to share!

I started the day off with the ladies – while they were primping I was photographing some of Marisa’s beautiful wedding details.

Mike & Marisa are big game players (and constant Words with Friends challengers) and I couldn’t resist playing with this Scrabble set once I saw it downstairs.

‘Getting Ready’ is one of my favorite parts to photograph of the wedding day – everyone is excited for the day and pretty relaxed (a mimosa never hurts), which makes for some amazing candid portraits – I just love this one. Kate did a fantastic job on everyone’s hair that morning, all the ladies were looking lovely.

Especially the bride, isn’t she radiant?

Meanwhile, the guys were across the driveway getting ready at the carriage house. I got there just in time for Mike’s tie, and I think I made him a bit nervous as there was a bit of a Goldilocks situation with the tie  - luckily Khadder stepped in to save the day! ;)

Mike and Marisa opted to do a First Look so they could enjoy their cocktail hour at the reception. I love having time to photograph all the formal portraits before the ceremony!

After a few wedding portraits at the house, we headed over to Truro Vineyards for some more photography. If you are ever down the Cape, you must stop into Truro Vineyards – they have a lovely wine tasting, not to mention a beautiful location for a wedding. We couldn’t have asked for a nicer day.

I absolutely ADORE this image – my favorite from the day – you can just see how in love and happy they are!

After the portraits, we whisked Marisa inside until the ceremony was ready to start. I just love this image of her father walking her down the aisle. You can see the pride on his face, and rightly so.

Mike and Marisa exchanged vows they had written themselves, and I’m not ashamed to say a shed a few tears myself – what an emotionally charged ceremony.Married! And then it was time to eat, drink, and dance the night away!Uncle Mario was the hit of the dance floor!

Mike & Marisa, thank you so much for sharing your day with me – can’t wait to share the rest of the images with you!

Colleen - August 1, 2011 - 10:30 am

Julia | MA Senior Photographer

Its the thick of the senior season – and I’ve met up with lots of great soon to be seniors this month! Meet Julia – a senior I photographed late in the Fall and haven’t had a chance to share her session yet. Most of my sessions for Boston area seniors are photographed in July or August, while kids are out of school over the Summer. I do also photograph some senior portraits in September and October in time for high school yearbook submission. I think Julia’s session might have been the latest session to date, and we just eeked it into the yearbook for her :) It was fun shooting in November, an interesting challenge because I am so used to photographing seniors in the lush green grasses and trees of summer. As you can see from some of these images, the leaves had fallen from the trees weeks earlier, and things were looking a bit… brown. Turns out, this was a *perfect* backdrop for Julia’s teal dress – I absolutely adore the color combination, and she was a trooper as I recall it being quite chilly that day!

Julia, I hope you had a fantastic senior year and wish you all the best with your acting aspirations!

I totally love this free spirited shot of her!

beth eggert - July 21, 2011 - 10:42 pm
