Back from Vacation

Hello! I’ve just returned from a wonderful vacation cruising in the Mediterranean, and I’m getting settled back into ‘real life’. I am booking portrait sessions including in-home newborn sessions, senior portraits, children and baby photography and of course family portraits thru the Summer and Fall.

I can’t wait to share my favorite photos from my trip (I haven’t even looked at all of them yet!), but until then, here is one colorful abode on the Venetian island of Burano. Despite the rainy weather we had for a couple days, the houses were still cheery :)

Meet another one of my adorable clients, Reece. I met little R when he was just over a week old and found out he loved to be held and swaddled up nice and toasty. He also loved his cute little brown and blue hat hand-knit by Grandma with love.

This family portrait is actually one of the ‘outtakes’ but quickly became a favorite. I just love how Allyson and Eric are looking at each other. With a new baby they have their hands full for sure :)

Beautiful Baby Girl | Boston Newborn Photography

Its a hazard of the job to fall in love with all the snugly new babies I get to photograph! Little Kiera was no exception. I was so thrilled to photograph a baby girl as I got to break out my pink and purple hats and all the little girly accessories I add to newborn portraits. Kiera started out sleeping but didn’t want to miss out on the action and ended up staying awake for the last half of the session. She was so content just looking at me while I was photographing her and I was amazed by the eye contact I got from her. Incredible for a baby just days old!

I am so behind on my blogging! I’ve been post procrastinating because my comments section wasn’t working properly, and I wanted to work that out because I *love* getting blog comments. But now its fixed! So do say hello, don’t be shy :)

On to the goods. Sharing another beautiful mommy-to-be! I did Sara’s session a little earlier than I typically do maternity sessions, but since she was such a skinny little thing she was showing quite nicely. Its amazing that each woman carries her baby differently, so even if its just a belly shot, like this one, you can still see how your pregnant form is unique. Plus it never hurts to have some bling and animal prints in there ;)

And you can see from the rest of these images that Sara is stunning and we had a wonderful pregnancy portrait session.

We incorporated her tattoo ‘a ma vie de coer entier’ which is French for ‘you have my whole heart for my whole life’ and is engraved on a locket that her husband gave her for their wedding.

Remember Denise’s maternity portraits? I’m so excited to share images of her new son, Kai, isn’t he adorable? I got so excited when I met him and discovered he had all that beautiful hair!

I love capturing newborn babies in their home, so mom and dad can relax a bit and not worry about leaving the house so soon. Some of my favorites from our newborn session:

Print Competition Results | Award Winning MA Photographer

Its been a couple weeks since returning from the annual Professional Photographers Association of Massachusetts convention, and I’m just now processing everything I learned there. It was great to meet up and talk shop with fellow MA photographers and friends. Besides the inspiring speakers, the highlight of the convention was sitting and listening to the print competition, where a panel of judges critique and score hundreds of prints from local talent. It was my first time entering the competition and I’m thrilled to share I received 5 red ribbons! Now I have a hunger for competition, and I can’t wait to see what images of my beautiful clients I’ll be able to enter next year!

Anticipation | Boston Maternity Portraits

Meet another glowing mommy (and fellow photographer) Kysa. Of course, now that I am getting ready to share these images she already is enjoying little Max at home! It was Kysa’s idea to use the blocks to spell out Max, (thanks big sister Reagan for sharing with us!) – I love incorporating objects like this into the session to make your pregnancy portraits all the more personal. On to the goods!

I think this is my favorite from the session, I just love the curves here – pregnancy is so beautiful!

Expecting | Boston Pregnancy Portraits

Its about time I shared Denise’s maternity session since I just photographed her newborn son yesterday! Wasn’t she just beautiful pregnant? I am slightly obsessed with animal prints and I love that we were able to subtly incorporate them into the at home session. Her 3 year old son Cayden joined in at the end for some impromptu shots. I asked him to listen to his mom’s belly and find out if his baby brother was making monkey noises in there – that got a few giggles! Thank you Denise, can’t wait to show you the newborn images next week :)

Digital Image Collection

Had to share a few quick images of a client order that was delivered last week. For our digital image collection, a custom printed DVD is mounted to the inside of our image box, so your digital negatives are preserved along with a set of 5×7 prints from your gallery. A wonderful (and oh so adorable) keepsake.

Caution world, I got a scanner

…only half kidding. I was in the market for a new printer and I got the all in one Epson Artisan 810 – this sucker is huge. Took forever to set up but now I’ve got it printing the right colors, wifi enabled, and printed to a DVD. So I *had* to test out the scanner, because I’ve never had one before. I was looking through a box of old photos to scan and I found this gem from 2005. I love it- its totally my style still. I remember walking around the Prudential center with these two friends and I begged them to let me take their photo and let me ‘practice’ – I had just gotten my very first DSLR camera- so I had them hold hands and sorta fake a connection for me. And now, five years later, they are a couple. Life is funny like that. Can’t wait to look back upon old (and some forgotten) photos and see what else I can dig up.
