Its nearly that time of year again – graduation day is around the corner and soon a new class of seniors will rule the school. I took these senior pictures of Robb at the end of last summer, just before he started his senior year. In another month and a half he will be graduating, I can hardly believe it! These senior portraits are especially fun for me as Robb is my cousin, and it was awesome to have the opportunity to hang out for a couple hours to shoot these. I know senior pictures may not be high on the priority list for an 18 year old guy, but I promise to make it as painless as possible :) Boston area juniors – you should start thinking about where you want to have your senior pictures taken and schedule an appointment over the summer to be on track for your yearbook deadline. I love shooting senior sessions and going to different locations or incorporating your sports gear, instruments, or other items that make you –well you!

So, I’ll admit, its been awhile. Things got crazy around the holidays and I let my little corner of the web sit quietly for a bit. This year one of my resolutions was to take more personal images – I always have the camera in hand for clients and then tend not to take it out with me when I’m not working (you know what they say about the cobblers children having no shoes??) – and I plan to blog my favorites here.

So I have a slew of session images to share (some dating back to the summer!) but I figure you’ve waited this long, what’s a few more days.. and so instead I’m going to share some ‘personal’ images I took while on a recent shoot with Bentley University in New York City. (And yes I do understand the irony of this Boston photographer sharing two posts in a row with photos from New York!) Long story short I ended up at theMartha Stewart Show and was so happy we could take pictures before and after the taping.

I am a fan of all things home, food and crafty and so excited to be there. Of course, all the days that I could go to the show and the topic is.. wordworking! haha. I got a lovely magazine and DVD on woodworking and on building your own canoe – can’t say I plan to tackle that DIY anytime soon! The guest star that day was Nick Offerman, from the show Parks & Recreation, who is an avid wordworker.

I was so enamored by the set and details – though how rude there were video cameras, lights, and boom arms in my shots! ;) Here are a few grab shots from the pre/post taping – including a couple of Martha.

A little reminder that yes, you are going to be on TV…

The set – a ‘kitchen’, ‘craftroom’ and ‘greenhouse’, all beautifully styled. And look at all those lights!

A loved this little craft station! Martha knows its all about the details.

I also loved the paper and ribbons on rods in the background

Nick Offerman practicing his segment during pre taping

Martha answering a few audience questions after the show

The guy to the right of Martha is her brother, also a guest on the show

Stay tuned this week for some favorites from one of my Summer sessions – need sunny images to make me forget we are getting another 2 ft of snow dumped on us today!

So excited to share this wedding – what an amazing day! I got to travel to New York, perfect September weather, beautiful location at the Hollow Brook Golf Club, and not to mention an insanely gorgeous bride and groom! I have a slew of images to share so enough blabbing and I’ll get to the good stuff.

I started the day with the ladies while they prepped and primed. Love Audra’s bling – good job EJ ;)

Well hello there gorgeous

Here comes the bride, isn’t she radiant?

No, make that STUNNING

Love this one with Mom and her sister, a pre wedding pep talk

Shake it baby!

Looking lovely ladies…

Of course, the guys were not looking too shabby themselves

Audra and EJ opted to do a First Look (LOVE when couples do that!) – a sweet, exciting, happy moment unlike any other

They had a photobooth at their wedding which was SO cool, and of course I took advantage of that

Just one more portrait before she walks down the aisle

Audra and EJ wrote their own vows and had the guests laughing, crying, and celebrating right along with them. I’m a crier (anyone else cry when watching Say Yes to the Dress?) and I fought to hold back tears.

LOVED the colors – so bright and fun at the reception. Thanks to Alice at Petals by Alice for her lovely floral arrangements.

And then it was time to party the night away!

Audra and EJ, thanks for being so awesome and sharing your day with me! Can’t wait to show you the rest of your images :)
