Bridgette & Jeff South Boston Engagement Photographer

I’ve been busy working on images from Bridgette & Jeff’s wedding in Portland, ME last month, so its about time I share images from their engagement session in Boston last summer! Aren’t they the cutest?! And I’m happy to report were so awesome and fun to work with too! I met up with Bridgette and Jeff over by the Boston Children’s Museum, and we causally strolled along the Harbor Walk stopping along the way for portraits. This is my favorite way to photograph couples – a little walking and talking- keeping things relaxed and fun.

It was a hot July evening, so the waterfront made for a great spot to cool off.

So many people ask me “what should I wear to my engagement session?” and Bridgette & Jeff did a great job – something dressy but casual and easy to move in – with colors that aren’t matching, but complementary. Wear something that makes you feel confident and fabulous and you can’t go wrong! I absolutely love the outfits they picked- and those red shoes? adore them.

Bridgette is an architect so a stop by the stunning steps and modern lines of the ICA was in order as we wrapped up our time together.

Bridgette & Jeff- you already know I think you guys rock – can’t wait to show off your wedding images soon! :)

Boston Lifestyle Maternity Session

She really was glowing! I’m so pleased to share these maternity images of Jenn, taken in the Fall at her home in Boston. I can’t believe I’ve waited so long considering these are some of my favorite maternity portraits I’ve photographed. Jenn and her husband Jack were so awesome to work with, and their condo in downtown Boston was the perfect setting for her in-home maternity session. I love the challenge of photographing in a new space and when clients want to include their home and personal style in their images – makes for even more personal and fun portraits. I love the light and airy feel to these pregnancy portraits – Jenn was an absolutely stunning mama to be – I’ll let the images speak for themselves!

Jack had the best smile – I swear he should be on tv! Of course, having a wife as gorgeous as Jenn and a baby on the way would give him something to smile about ;) I love the casual portraits of them snuggling on the couch.

And, we had to take advantage of the amazing views of the Boston skyline that 30+ stories will get you out on their balcony.

We ended the session with some modern studio portraits in my favorite black & white – I love the look of anticipation and happiness on their faces!

Stay tuned because I photographed their adorable baby boy Jack Jr’s newborn session in January- will be sharing those images as well!

Miss Alexandra | Boston Newborn Photographer Travels

Well, I’m in a bit of disbelief that its really 2013! I’m sure it will take me until mid February to get used to writing 2013 on forms and such ;) What better way to ring in the New Year than with new life? 2012 was a wonderful year for Bring to Light Photography and I loved meeting new families and seeing some familiar faces. Of course, I’m woefully behind on showing off my beautiful clients so let’s start the year off right with Miss Alexandra. Although I routinely work in Boston and the surrounding areas like Cambridge, my own Somerville, Winchester and Belmont, I do offer to travel for newborn sessions a little further from home as well. Samantha first contacted me for a friend living in the South End and later booked me for her baby girl’s session in Rhode Island. It was a nice summery day and I enjoyed a lobster roll after the session by the water at her recommendation- all in a hard days work ;)

I had mom look through my selection of hats and headbands, such fun for newborn girl sessions, and we picked out some adorable looks for Alexandra. Once the baby was asleep, she was such a champ and slept nearly the entire session. A real treat was the 3 generation picture I was able to capture with Samantha and her mom and little Alex – three beautiful ladies.
