Another edition of Fashion Friday, this time on selecting coordinating outfits for your children. We’ve all seen the family pictures where everyone is in a white polo and khakis, and while that may work for some, your portraits should be about expressing who your family is, and I doubt everyone wears identical outfits everyday :) The key to building a fabulous collection of outfits is pretending all the clothes are going to be on the same person. That way, everything is coordinating in color, style and tone, but you won’t end up with a case of the matchy-matchies. This look comes from an adorable children’s store, Janie & Jack, which offers classic clothing with some beautiful details. They also group clothing in “collections” which makes it extra easy to pull together a cute outfit. These picks would look great outdoors, gives some nice layers to work with, and adds in a hint of pattern.
I photographed Skye as a newborn and I loved seeing how she has grown into a curious toddler. She started off wearing an adorable little romper from Splendid, which was perfect for the relaxed portrait session. In the beginning Skye was a little solemn, not quite sure of what to make of me yet, but by the end of our time together she was laughing and even allowed me to hold her dolly ;) I don’t think there are many images without her tongue sticking out, which I just love, so very two. Sharing a few of my favorite photographs from our morning…
I love the soulful look in her eyes here
Look at those cute boots!
Some very wet kisses from Puppy ;)
Love this shot – doesn’t it just scream canvas?! We were playing peak a boo here.
and my favorite from the session… Mother, Daughter and Doll. I just love how Skye is looking up towards Mom. Priceless.
… Eileen – you are going to have a TOUGH time deciding which are your favorites, I already know!

Great capture, she is so cute and I love the canvas image.
Another beautiful senior from my sessions in Vermont last week. Alex wanted her senior pictures to be a bit more casual and relaxed, so we started at the beautiful garden in her backyard and then headed up to a park near her house to explore. Doesn’t she have the most sparkling blue eyes? Here are a few of my favorites from our portrait session. Thanks Alex for a fun afternoon!
